NAWBO Columbus

The Vision

What does it look like
to lead this chapter well?

A working answer to one question — what does it look like to lead this chapter so that a year from now, women business owners across our region are demonstrably better off?

My Commitment

"As Chapter President, I will lead with integrity, collaboration, and purpose to strengthen NAWBO Columbus as a catalyst for economic empowerment, strategic opportunity, inclusive leadership, and sustainable business growth for women entrepreneurs."

This is the sentence I will come back to when decisions get hard. Everything else on this site sits downstream of it.

Why I Said Yes

Because my voice matters, and my actions have impact on the women-owned business community.

That is the short version. The longer version is that I've watched what happens when leadership in this space is treated as ceremonial, and I've watched what happens when it's treated as construction work. The difference is measurable. I said yes because I want to do the construction work.

I am not interested in being a ceremonial president. I want to be a builder of ecosystems where women business owners gain tangible opportunity, visibility, and scale.

Those words matter. Tangible means it can be counted. Opportunity means it shows up as contracts, capital, and corporate relationships. Visibility means our members are seen by people who can hire them, fund them, and refer them. Scale means we help businesses get bigger, not just busier.

Five Values

Guiding this presidency

01

Access through collaboration

Leadership should open doors. I will prioritize building strategic relationships that create real opportunities for members, partners, and underserved businesses.

02

Economic empowerment

Every decision I make should help women business owners grow revenue, build sustainability, increase capacity, and create long-term wealth and influence.

03

Authentic inclusion

Women of color, veterans, LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, emerging businesses, and next-generation leaders will be intentionally included. Inclusion that happens by accident is not inclusion.

04

Integrity with accountability

I will lead transparently, communicate honestly, and follow through on commitments. I want a culture where trust, professionalism, and measurable outcomes matter.

05

Legacy through leadership development

I will focus on building future leaders, mentorship pipelines, and systems that strengthen NAWBO beyond a single presidency. If everything I built collapses when I step away, I did not actually build anything.

Alignment

How this vision aligns with NAWBO's mission

NAWBO Columbus already works through three mission pillars: Advocacy, Community, and Transformation. My vision builds on that foundation rather than replacing it.

Advocacy

Stays central — strengthening our chapter's voice with local government, corporations, and educational institutions.

Community

Where I want to push hardest. Real connection. Cohorts. Spaces where women feel known, not just networked-with.

Transformation

Where the measurement work lives. Members shouldn't have to take it on faith. We should show them.

Legacy

The legacy I want to leave

At the end of my term, I want NAWBO Columbus to be a stronger economic force for women business owners across our region.

I want members to feel that this organization created real access to contracts, capital, corporate relationships, leadership development, and strategic connections that helped their businesses grow. I want women entrepreneurs — especially women of color, emerging businesses, veterans, LGBTQ+ business owners, and next-generation leaders — to feel intentionally included, supported, and essential to the future of our business community.

I also want to leave behind sustainable systems, stronger partnerships, and leadership pipelines that continue long after my presidency ends. Success is not what one president accomplishes alone. It is the momentum, infrastructure, and opportunities that future leaders can build on.

from connection to growth,

from visibility to influence,

from surviving to scaling.
